The City of Lauderdale Lakes was founded in 1961 and was originally made popular as a retirement area for Northeasterners.  Lauderdale Lakes is located in the heart of Broward County. The city has a population of over 31,000 residents and is approximately 3.6 square miles in size. One of the city’s characteristics is its unique cultural diversity of residents.
