Cooper City, also known as “Somewhere Special,” is proud to be recognized as a family oriented community with recreational parks and great schools for the enjoyment of the residents.   Cooper City is located in Broward County just South West of Fort Lauderdale. The community was founded in 1959 and it was named for Morris Cooper, who founded the community after selling the Imperial Shirt Company for $3.5 million and since then it has been home to just under 30,000 habitants. Among the newly residential developments you will find waterways, grazing land, and horse farms mixed with commercial districts.
