The city of Dania Beach was the first city
in Broward County dating back to the 1880s.
Starting as a settlement called Modello, Dania Beach
was incorporated in November, 1904. One of the oldest cities founded in South
Florida, Dania Beach is located in
South Broward County and is nestled next to the Atlantic Ocean an it offers
easy access being adjacent to international seaports and the Hollywood
International Airport. This community of about 25 square miles has a population
just over 28,000 habitants. Dania Beach
is a relaxing beachfront community perfect for a weekend beach getaway with
plenty of family outdoor activities and natural excursions; year round
snorkeling and scuba diving are popular activities, as are fishing, sunbathing,
and swimming. An established and growing Marine Industry, with more than 30
marinas and related facilities, offers varied boating and shore excursion
experiences, and the outdoor experience is enhanced at Sportsman’s Park, home
to the International Game Fish Association Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum
and the Bass Pro Shop “Outdoor World” emporium, as well as a Tri-Rail station.
