Davie is
located in Broward
County to the South of
Fort Lauderdale. This family oriented and diverse community retains its
hometown ambience. Davie
has a population of over 75,000 habitants with a average age of 35.5 years. Davie was founded by a group of settlers composed of
workers from the Panama Canal Zone. The original name of the town
was Zona because of this. Randolph P. Davie, a developer, bought about
27,000 acres in the area and the town name was changed to "Davie." Although Broward County
has lots to offer, the residents of Davie
do not stray too far from home to find enjoyment as they can enjoy the
exclusive amenities that this city has to offer very close to their homes. Some
of the main attractions that this city has to offer are numerous horse breeding
and equestrian activities, swimming and camping, sports and the annual rodeo.
The November State Champion Rodeo is held in Davie and attracts tourists and cowboys from
throughout the country. With over 20
parks available for recreation, the Town of Davie is dedicated to superior park areas and
facilities for the benefit of all residents. The Town of Davie
is home to the Flamingo
Gardens and Arboretum, the Buehler Planetarium and The
Bailey Concert Hall.
