Lauderdale By The Sea is a charming seaside village located just east of Fort Lauderdale on a
barrier island where gentle trade winds blow soft caresses and pelicans fly
overhead. The town has about 6,300 permanent residents and about 11,000 during
peak seasons. Lauderdale By The Sea is also known as the “Shore Diving Capital
of Florida” because of the town’s most valuable resource which is a Coral Reef
located about 100 yards of the beach. In addition, the SS Copenhagen, a cargo
steamer that sank during the 1900s, has been designated as an official
underwater archeological preserve of only 10 in the entire state of Florida. Also, the 1000
foot long Anglin’s Pier which is open 24 hours for fishing and site seeing. Lauderdale
By The Sea offers its residents and visitors a huge variety of entertainment,
shopping, dinning and relaxation that makes this town a great place to live life.
