Miramar, also known as “Beauty and Progress,” is one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Miramar, which means “Sea Sight” in Spanish and it was founded in 1955 and it was named after a town in Cuba and it has about 112,000 habitants. Home to more Fortune 500 companies than anywhere else in South Florida, Miramar is the second largest city in Broward County.  From the time of its founding Miramar has been and continues to be a family-oriented community. The City’s professional recreational staff plans year-round activities geared to this strong family orientation with something for everyone, from “ tiny tots” to senior citizens.
